Parish Mission Weekend 2026

Friday 11th September – Messy Worship at St Paul’s Church

πŸ‘βœ¨ What a wonderful evening at Messy Worship! βœ¨πŸ‘

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at St Paul’s Church last night. We had an amazing time together, with lots of fun, creativity and laughter!

The children enjoyed making popcorn sheep, sheep cupcakes and lots of sheep-themed arts and crafts, before hearing the wonderful story of The Lost Sheep, shared by our fantastic Children’s Leader, Rebecca. ❀️

It was lovely to see so many children and families getting involved and enjoying themselves.

Thank you to everyone who came along and to all those who helped make the evening so special.

πŸ‘€ Keep an eye out for more family events coming soon from the Parish of Oswaldtwistle πŸ™‚#AllForJesus

Saturday 12th September – Heritage Open Day at All Saints’ & Immanuel Church

We had a wonderful time welcoming visitors to Immanuel Church for Heritage Open Day πŸŽ‰, giving people the chance to explore the church, discover some of its history πŸ“– and take a closer look at the many treasures and stories that have been part of church life over the years.

Visitors were able to explore old parish registers and records πŸ“š, learn more about our beautiful stained-glass windows πŸͺŸβœ¨, see historic church silver and vestments ✝️, and discover some of the fascinating features of the building.

It was lovely to see people sharing memories πŸ’¬, asking questions ❓ and finding out more about the heritage of Immanuel and our local community ❀️.

There was plenty happening throughout the day, with activities for all ages πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦ and lots of opportunities to chat, reminisce and enjoy the church building in a slightly different way 😊.

As part of our Heritage Open Days celebrations across the parish, All Saints Church also hosted a cake and quiz gathering πŸ°β˜•πŸ§ , bringing people together over some fantastic homemade treats!

A huge thank you πŸ™ to everyone who helped organise the events, welcomed visitors, shared their knowledge, provided refreshments and helped make the day possible β€” and thank you to everyone who came along πŸ’›.

It was a lovely celebration of our churches, our history and the generations of people who have been part of their story β›ͺπŸ“œπŸŒΏ

Sunday 13th September 2026 – OPCS & Community Sporting Event

🏏β›ͺ🌿 What a fantastic day from start to finish! 🌿β›ͺ🏏

Our day began with a wonderful One Parish Church Service at Immanuel Church, bringing everyone together for worship before the afternoon’s activities. πŸ™β€οΈ

After the service, members of our church community went head-to-head with the Immanuel Church Cricket Club team for a brilliant afternoon of sport, fun and laughter! β˜€οΈπŸ‘

The church team may have lost this year πŸ˜…πŸβ€¦ but there’s always next year! πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‚

It was so lovely to see everyone getting involved β€” the children had a fantastic time, everyone looked amazing, and so much effort had clearly gone into making the day such a success. πŸ’›

The bowling green was great fun too 🎳🌿, and Bishop Philip certainly looked like he was having a brilliant time, Revd Paul on the other hand…! I think he’ll be wanting a rematch!

A huge thank you to the cricket club staff, players and everyone involved at the club for making us feel so welcome. You were absolutely fantastic. πŸ‘β€οΈ

Days like this are what community is all about β€” neighbours coming together, worshipping, laughing, playing sport and enjoying each other’s company. πŸ₯°β˜•πŸ

Thank you to everyone who came along, took part, helped out and made the whole day so special. 🌟

πŸ“Έ Here are a few photos from a brilliant day!
